To quote Shakespeare, “All the world’s a stage, And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances…” But we don’t always notice the players meant for bigger parts in our lives at first glance. We can miss out on our most significant relationships when we shut our eyes to possibilities or because we form prejudice upon first impressions. Or, sometimes, even before we have met someone. The key is to have the patience and openness to be able to allow others the opportunity to prove their significance to us. The key is to not be misdirected by a fear of the new and the different.

Because what we should really be afraid of is the failure to recognize our kindred spirits when they do make their entrances.
